Join us for a free, relaxed day of chess, coffee, and community! Kids, teens, and adults of all skill levels are welcome, whether you’re learning the basics, returning to chess, or looking for a challenging opponent.

Drop in anytime and stay as long as you like. Play casual games, meet local players, and enjoy coffee while the kids make new chess friends. Boards and clocks are available, but you’re welcome to bring your own.

Find your next opponent with our name tags

When you arrive, grab the name-tag color that best matches your playing level. This helps players match with others around their level for great games!

🟢 Green: Beginner

You know how the pieces move and are still learning the rest. Approximately under 400 on Chess.com.

🟡 Yellow: Developing player

You can play a complete game and are building your skills. If you are a casual adult player this is likely for you. If you are a child that plays in a chess club at school this is also likely for you. Approximately 400–700 on Chess.com.

🔵 Blue: Strong player

You’re a confident player, perhaps one of the stronger players in your school chess club or an adult who plays somewhat regularly. Approximately 700–1100 on Chess.com.

🔴 Red: Serious player

You play regularly and enjoy more competitive games. Potentially play in tournaments. Approximately 1100+ on Chess.com.
These are just guidelines. No rating needed! Pick the color that feels closest, or ask an organizer for help. We can always change!
