Titled Chess Coaches in Armenia

Chess in Armenia is organized nationally by the Chess Federation of Armenia, founded in 1927 and affiliated with FIDE. Yerevan is the clear center of the game, anchored by the Tigran Petrosian Chess House, which hosts the Armenian Chess Championship and Women's Chess Championship as well as memorial and youth events. The country's competitive tradition runs deep: Tigran Petrosian held the World Chess Championship from 1963 to 1969, and Armenia's men's team won the Chess Olympiad in 2006, 2008, and 2012. Since the 2011-12 school year, chess has been a mandatory subject in Armenian primary schools (grades 2 through 4).

• The Chess Federation of Armenia (founded 1927, FIDE member) runs the national championships and organizes club and youth competition out of Yerevan.
• The Tigran Petrosian Chess House in Yerevan is the country's central chess venue and hosts the national championships and memorial tournaments.
• Chess has been a required primary-school subject (grades 2-4) since the 2011-12 school year, so junior instruction and school-linked play are unusually deep for a country this size.
